Song of India Abeltones Big Band - bido26 - 13-10-2017

My version of this tune, not sure about the amount of Abbey Road Reverb Plates on the the Horns? but generally happy with the result, pushing the horns out in front of the mix.

Huge. Your persepective is so different from mine, I like saxes down bones up less verb... But I think you hit the oboe tone better than I did somehow. All of the horns belong in front, and the lead trumpet is basically an LV and if he's playing something like a melody line than everything else is a BV. If there's no trumpet then the saxes are the LV. Its funny because I almost fully CLR'd my rhythm section like a rock and roll tune but I didn't really push mine volume-wise in mastering and maybe I should have done so a little more because I think in a few spots the horns and reeds go a little small... Its a dynamic take on things I guess. What combination of room mics did you end up using?

This inspired me to do a more serious job of mastering my track, I'll keep you posted.
