Decypher - "Unseen" DWM Mix/Master - davidwmontgomery - 02-10-2017

Hello Everyone,

I Would love your feedback/criticism of this mix. I saw some bad DC Offset in a few of the tracks, like kick and OH's, but I don't think it affected too much. I did not use the last 2 toms (3&4) as I don't even think they were hit or they weren't recorded properly. (No transients) I didn't keep the DI'd gars, as the mic's were pretty good. Reminds me of a sloppy-er MCMB minus the vocals and No Breakdowns (sad).

The vocals were the hardest. I decided to bury them a bit in the mix and add more fx. I did double parallel compression on the drums. I started with H-Comp at 50% on the Drum Bus, then sent it to a return bus with a LA-3A mixed in about 45%. I think they came out very punchy and big. The snare was the thing I liked the least. I would have re-sampled it it I had time. I did not do the car test, and personally I think this may have too much bass.

Lastly my Master Chain was the Scheps Neve strip, SSL G-Buss Comp, and UAD Precision Maximizer.
