The reverb needs to be eqed to fit better in the mix

Solo is buried and needs distortion or more saturation
Just cause its thrash doesn't mean you can't make it sound modern.

I like the new mix better sounds done to me, just need to turn that solo up a so its sitting ontop like it were a vocal
