M.E.R.C. - Knockout (M&F) - Digitaldruglord - 29-01-2017 This is a second go at this song for me, I decided to place all the faders down and go at it again. Sometimes you have to do that to get more in the direction of how your mind may hear a mix/master result. Sometimes a mix goes in an alternate direction, when that happens, I like to just walk away, come back the next day and start again. This song was one of those. Note: this session is incredibly difficult because song style calls for a balance of Boom Bap Hip Hop and synth commanding R&B, but you can't go full Boom Bap or full R&B and have to find a balance between the 2. I am settled direction wise with this redone version. I had to dig in a bit more than normal in the plugins bag. The tool that gave me the drum weight I wanted was UA Culture Vulture, in my opinion, it may be one of the best special tools out there for harmonics. 24-bit 44.1 Reference https://s3.amazonaws.com/digitaldruglord/MERC_remixed.wav |
