Hi Robert,
Nice solid mix I'm listening on headphones and laptop computer speakers at the moment.
Sounds balanced !
will have another listen on monitors on the weekend.
Cheers.

Hi Robert ! I'm PE's drummer and original mix engineer.

Sounds good overall. You should mute the main snare when I play on the second snare, cause we can hear the bzzz each time I hit a tom.
It's cool using FX on the guitars during choruses, but it's a bit disturbing because of it's length. Maybe less feedback would help.
The kick lacks some smack and attack. It sounds a bit buried. Don't hesitate to drastically cut some mids Wink

Keep it up Wink

Thanks for the kind words, guys. This is the first mix which has been run through the summing mixer which I've designed and built. It has four independent (switchable) output transformer stages using Lundahl, Sowter, OEP and Jensen transformers. Still at the tweeking stages. Thanks for the advice on the kick, snare and the FX, Mandubien; I'll address that with the next mix. Thanks also, Don for listening. Anything you discover to be 'odd' in this mix, please let me know. I'm also going to look at the intro guitar again... something's not right and needs fixed.

Cheers.

Hi Robert,
Having a listen on Ns10's with a Krk 10 sub ,love the sound and warmth of your summing mixer ,I want one too !
As you mentioned about the intro can hear some low end frequencies building up competing for space with the guitars and maybe the bass ?
Your version Sounds a touch lower heavy the low bass and some upper mid bass witch could my room or sub,In the verse the tom hits are jumping out a touch at around 142 hz along with some others minor things popping out like some upper guitars and cymbals.

Thanks, Don. That actually helped me understand your system. Interesting 'EQ' cuts... I'll pay attention to those areas.
I noticed the 'overload' (in-the-red).... presumably that was from the MP3 ? If you'd like a copy of the WAV form further analysis, no problem there.
What were you using to do the video cature? I'd imagine some day I'll want to do that.
Cheers

Here is a link of the free screen capture software ,still trying to work how to get optimal picture and audio.
I thinks it's a great to give each other a visual idea of feedback and questions , even share a mixing session.
