Painted Skies - chuck moe - 27-12-2016

First crack at this mix. Like others have noticed, the stems aren't of the greatest quality and the timing is off on several instruments. I didn't spend much time editing as to get it right I would need many many hours.

yeah it's hard to mix this..

Well I like the guitar sound..
There is a ringing freq. in the drums.. everything has it.. snare toms and I believe even the overheads.
Kick needs to be louder because in some areas is inexistent.

that's about it.. it's a good take but you can definitely make it sound better.

Thanks for the comments.. I'll search for that resonance freq tonight. Cheers

The overheads are washing out the detail in this mix. Try using multi band compression on the overhead high frequencies.

The issue could be that there is too much compression overall. Try using parallel compression instead.

The vocal track is a beast to get right or even close to sitting naturally in the mix.

Less processing on the vocals may help with the clarity issues.

Cheers.
