My mix of Queen's Light - Duke1418 - 02-11-2016 I tried to get my mix to sound like the provided mix. I used the recorded cymbals, with small cuts at ~1kHz, which did not seem to hurt the snare. I added a high shelf on the overhead mics, to bring out the cymbals a bit, boosted the kick drum. I compressed the bass and used a limiter, to keep the louder parts from maxing the master bus. I used a little compression on the hand percussion. I sent all of the tracks through the same reverb, though I sent them through different delay settings to place them in the mix; the kick and bass did not get reverb. As always, all comments and suggestions appreciated, both positive and negative. |
