English actor by Mandubien - Mandubien - 02-08-2016

Hey guys !

Here's my mix.
Nothing complicated here, drum samples from Superior Drummer were nicely chosen.
I edited the bass which got some weird blanks, and get rid of some key parts I did not like.

What do you think ?

nice , wide and punchy ..
you did good job vocal dynamic.

been thinking how they smoothen the vocal like they did in the sample song.

Thanks Waswise Smile

For vocals, I use Vocal Rider from Waves first, to reduce the dynamics so the compressor (1176) works with more consistency. Then EQ, compressor again (LA2A), deesser, and another Vocal Rider.

The hardest part for me is to set delays and reverb right. Usually I use a plate reverb, and a light delay to open a bit the vocals.

Hi Mandubien! Nice work. Great contrast between toms and bright keyboards, it really works.
I find that the choruses less wide than the verses, it seems a bit unfairConfused
For my taste there is too fast attack on guitar solo compressor, it sounds slightly unnaturally.
I like everything else.
