Cnoc An Tursa - Bannockburn Mix Session - WestonMcNew - 19-06-2016

Hey guys,
I figured I would take a stab at this track. I finished this in about 2 hours. It was all in the box, in Pro Tools.

For guitars, I did away with the mic'd signals all together because I just wasn't feeling the sound of them. I used Guitar Rig 5 from Native Instruments to emulate my usual guitar tone. Usually it sounds pretty nice. The bass was a different story, I used Sansamp to process the DI signal, through a low pass filter on the amp signal, and had those run parallel with each other.

For drums, I sent the signal from the kick and snare through Melodyne to map out the transients and export as midi tracks. I then used it to blend Superior Drummer 2.0 into the mix to make the kick sound nice and fat and add some body to the snare, so they can both cut through the mix.

I hope that you enjoy this mix. It was quite fun.
