A challenge not to make the vox harsh or spongy and I think I failed....

Any suggestions?

Vocals are too low in the mix....like you got the band sounding great and then brought the vocal faders up....really nice tones on the guitars, the bass is a TOUCH hot, but still blends with the kick and guitars so no biggie there. Nice tone on the bass too..... but those vocals need to be compressed and locked into place....and then turned up a few dB.

Overall, the band is awesome and my only gripe is that the vocals are hard to understand because they're a touch low.
