Not Alone mik123 - mik123 - 04-12-2015

Hi!

Beautiful song!

I am to lazy for some automatization! Blush

Thanks for listening! Big Grin

Sounds pretty balanced to me ,Wondering if you mix on headphones? as the mix sounds a little full in the 120-400 hz area by maybe 2 or 3 of db on my monitors.
Nice Job Big Grin

Hi: you were seriously on the right path with the first post version.. for reference, here is a copy of my version before the mastering pass (which is the one I posted)

I also feel comfortable using headphones in my process (Sen HD650 and HD800) but always, always, always revert to the near-fields afterwards to proof tweaks made using headphone.

I'm with druglord, I like the feel of your first mix a little bit better. I kind of gelled more. That said, I think your vox could be a little hot during the chorus.

Otherwise, it's a really nice listen (knowing there were some points that you felt too lazy to automate :-P )

Nice work.

The sounds are good but I'm confused by the placement of things, especially the snare. It seems dry as a bone and very much out of place. Is it me or doesn't this song cry out for a big space considering it is a ballad?
