Pray For The Rain (First Post) - LongSleevedPants - 24-11-2015

Pretty new to the game, first attempt at mixing this track

Not the loudest mix, hasn't been mastered and I prefer to mix quite quietly

Be brutally honest with opinions, it's only going to make me better

Cheers

Hi

Thanks for posting your mix ! You definitely had a unique vibe going with your mix, so keep your own flavour going. My biggest point of feedback would be the depth of the mix. This is the main point Mike gave me about my mix. When the vocal comes in especially, it is very dry. This could be subjective for sure, but I wanted to hear the vocal blend in with the track more. Especially when I hear the reverb on other elements.

Your snare sound was very distinctive as per my comment above - really like it, but there are some lower mids to pull out of it or the reverb.

Did you try referencing your mix against the one Mike did? That may be another exercise to experiment.

Thanks again !

Thomas
