Non Lo Diro Col Labbro - hurling - 03-11-2015 I love classical music and have enjoyed a number of smaller ensembles through the years. This didn't make the challenge any easier for my first classical mix. The Cello seemed to have a resonate frequency that needed to be taken care of across all of the microphones. I treated the spot vocal as the main vocal and kept it in the center. Mostly EQ tweaks on the mics. The master bus has a lot more going on than I planned. I used a multiband EQ to try to duck out a couple of db of 1.2Khz in an attempt to rein in the harpsichord. I also took out a couple of db at 12Khz to reduce some of the excess air. I also added just a minor touch of tube warmth. I tried to be subtle. The out of the box move was to take the low and high mics and throw a massive hall on them and then mix that back in for my reverb. I hope you enjoy the mix.
