My go on 'Pony' - empower - 26-10-2015

Hi all,

Ok, this is my go at the mix of Pony from Timboz. My goal was to see what I could get out of the tracks without replacement and/or reamping.

Mixed on Ubuntu Studio within Ardour, mostly with the Calf Suite

Drums and Guitars needed quite heavy EQ, I also applied some parallel compression on drums as well as parallel processing on bass on an aux track.
Also the backing vocals needed a bit of love.

Funny things also happen when you update a plugin suite while mixing a project Wink.

All in all I'm not fully satisfied with the result, so comments and feedback are welcome.

lg,
Michael

Two main things: The drums sound pretty muffled to me and I'd like them to be a bit louder. And in contrast, the vocals sound too harsh in the highs and could benefit from a little lower mids to give them some weight.

Keep at it! Smile
