Believe - stoman's mix - stoman - 15-08-2015

There were a couple of challenges with this material...

I've heard some mixes of the song that tried to turn it into a bombastic pop song. While that's feasible, it isn't my vision.

Here is how I hear the song.

Definitively another feeling for this version ! I would say more natural, "less" produced. It's more sensual, warm. Good idea Wink

I like it, but the bass feels disconnected from the rest of the mix. I also feel like there is a lack of low end energy overall. As stated multiple times on here, however, I am a recovering bass junkie. There also seems to be a glue missing on the mix. Your parts sound nice, just not connected. This track definitely had some real issues when I mixed it, so it's a tough one to nail. A lot of concessions have to be made. Keep at it, I don't think you're far off of a really solid mix.

I like the balances and this interpretation.

I feel that the over all sound could open up a little bit. As if you have both low-pass and hi-pass-filters in master buss with too strong settings.

Esses come through wrong way. Small adjustment could be done there.
