RE: James May: 'Eliza Jane' - HbGuitar - 11-04-2017 Those mandolins are so beautiful and heart achingly pretty that its hard not to shine a light on them ...... but i fear that for this song, less could well be more..... And i fully understand the sirens call.....my first rough mix was probably even busier Apart from that, i like your mix a lot. cheers, Simon RE: James May: 'Eliza Jane' - Roy - 11-04-2017 I like the sound of everything overall but I feel like the vocals are a little buried and in the back behind everything else. People have already mentioned the mandolins and acoustic guitar so I think if you did any changes based on those comments that would probably give the vocals more space and have them stand out more. That said it's a very good sound that just needs some minor tweaks. RE: James May: 'Eliza Jane' - L.Mix - 19-06-2017 Version 2 sounds much nicer more pleasant to listen to. Job well done. personally I would pull the snare back just a bit so that it sits below the Vocals, but that's just me RE: James May: 'Eliza Jane' - thedon - 20-06-2017 (19-06-2017, 10:55 PM)L.Mix Wrote: Version 2 sounds much nicer more pleasant to listen to. Job well done. Thanks for having a listen ,you are right about the snare ,will bring it back ! Cheers RE: James May: 'Eliza Jane' - Mixinthecloud - 21-06-2017 In mix 2 I really like your bass guitar. It sings nicely against the ensemble without being too intrusive. I almost got a sense of Simon and Garfunkle in your mix. I do wonder why you have not cleaned up the ending. I guess there will be more mixes to come. when is it ever done, huh? Well done so far.
