Bio: Since leaving school in the mid-70's, I've always been involved in electronics. It was through repairing musicians amplifiers and PA systems that got me *connected* with bands - which led me into FOH mixing, live recording and recording studio sessions. While bringing up my family, I managed to learn to play the bass guitar too. Always having a passion for music tech, recording, mixing and producing, my education continues to this day. Over the years, I've built up a pretty respectable home studio where ProTools and Cubase are my main DAW's. I still repair and refurbish audio gear from analogue mixing consoles and tape machines to amplifiers big and small - and still know how to 'cook' voltage regulators, 'bake' tape, fry power supplies, boil capacitors, and even know why that 'thing' makes a ....bzzzzzzzz sound just before it goes bang! Never alone with an oscilloscope and a soldering iron; in between those times, I'm usually mixing - or annoying the wife.
